The modern-day CFO is no longer solely responsible for the financial viability of the organisation. Instead, finance is becoming an enabling factor for operations, innovation and sustainability. This means that todays’ CFO is now faced with dealing with immediate challenges such as economic slowdown, rising costs of raw materials and energy and navigating sustainability regulations. In one of the world’s largest dairy companies, FrieslandCampina, a great challenge for CFO Hans Janssen is tackling these crises while also maintaining the profitability and livelihood of the organisation and keeping the impacts on the long-term strategy in mind.
