Mr. den Houter was trained as a hydrographic surveyor at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, earned a degree in business economics at the University of Amsterdam, and an international master’s degree in Finance and Control. He started his career at Exxon Mobil in 2000, where he worked as financial analyst and controller for the Benelux retail operating company. In 2005 he moved to Shell, where he worked as controller at Shell Global Real Estate, project manager at Shell Energy Europe and financial manager for joint ventures at Shell Upstream International. The history of Royal BAM Group dates back more than 150 years. Although the construction-services business has grown to be the biggest Dutch construction company in 2017, the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a difficult time also for them. In the last years, Royal BAM Group went through a big restructuring and transition of the organisation. This was needed to structurally improve the profitability which was a painful decision for the employees. Also, a new strategic agenda was defined in order to create more value for shareholders and solid prospects for the stakeholders, including employees. During this time, Mr. den Houter even temporarily took the role of CEO upon him.

After Frans’ presentation, there is room for a lively discussion with him and the other participants.
