BNG Bank

BNG Bank is of and for the Dutch public sector. Instead of maximising profits, our priority is to maximise the social impact of our activities. Based on this purpose, we started our 'Road to Impact' strategy, focused on serving the public sector and building client partnerships.

BNG Bank started in 1914 as the Gemeentelijke Credietbank (municipal bank), providing municipalities with funding to enable them to fulfil their societal duties. This contribution to the Dutch public sector is still the purpose of the bank anno 2022, driven by their ‘’Road to Impact’’ strategy. Trying to quantify and report impact has become a new addition to BNG Bank’s core processes. Meanwhile, rules and regulations regarding environmental and social impact are becoming more and more important for banks and corporations. As a CFO, Olivier Labe and his team are playing an instrumental role in navigating through the challenges of developing and inbedding innovative approaches to measuring impact that fits BNG Bank’s specific strategy whilst implementing generic rules and regulations on this subject.
