Rachelle van Daalen – Pluijmen, ProRail
Program manager Diversity & Inclusion
Rachelle van Daalen-Pluijmen has been working at ProRail for more than 12 years, where she has fulfilled various roles. As a Learning & Development Advisor she was responsible for (team) development issues. In 2018 she filled the D&I position within ProRail to put diversity on the map. D&I quickly became aware of ProRail's core values, Rachelle has set up an awareness program and pursues an action-oriented policy in the field of diversity and inclusivity.
ProRail is a railway manager. This means that we are responsible for the maintenance, renewal, expansion and safety of the Dutch railway network. As an independent party, we divide the space on 7,000 kilometers of track, arrange all train traffic (1.4 million journeys per working day) and build and manage stations. We do this with attention to our society and with an eye to the future.
To introduce the new D&I line, Rachelle, Program Manager D&I at ProRail, will give a short keynote. Rachelle is the key between vision and implementation of ProRail's D&I policy and she is involved on a daily basis with subjects that are still unclear or unclear to many leaders. Five themes are central to this: gender, cultural diversity, work challenge, LGBTI and age. She will show how D&I not only remains a bullet point on the boardroom agenda, but can make a clear difference in the ins and outs of the organization by, among other things, creating awareness for (in)visible diversity. How do you go from vision to implementation, and how do you make a business case for this theme?
