CISO

After David Chow has identified key threats, Walter van Oostrum, CISO at het CAK, will take the floor to give a key note about how to manage these threats in practice. Walter will share which measures het CAK has put in place to improve security, how he managed to create more awareness and educate employees on cyber threats, and what difficulties he faces as CISO in the process of doing so on a daily basis – all of which may serve as valuable lessons for cyber security professionals in all layers of the public sector.

But what if things go wrong, and despite all efforts, your organization is hacked? Edwin Moraal experienced a large-scale cyber security attack on VNOG in his role as CISO, and successfully managed to guarantee communication and cooperation with chain partners including mayors, ministries, fellow directors, the NCSC and the VR-ISAC. During the Cyber Security Day 2023, he will give a detailed insight into his lessons learned, ranging from how the attack could have been prevented, to what went right and wrong in setting up a crisis structure.

To conclude the event, Ad Krikke, Executive Partner at Gartner, will shine a light on the future of cyber security based on the developments as outlined by Gartner.
