During this Vision Dinner, Peter Boom and Thymo van den Brug will discuss how this ‘system of systems’ can facilitate the mobility transition. Digital Twins can be used to tackle current challenges such as the rail infrastructure capacity issue, help improve performance of the railways and rise its customer experience. After Peter's presentation, the rest of the evening is devoted to open discussion. We cordially invite you to participate in this Vision Dinner.
Peter Boom, Royal HaskoningDHV Digital
Thymo van den Brug, ProRail
Director Rail Asset Management and Digitisation
During his career, Peter Boom has gained expertise in various fields related to the rail industry, both in the field of passenger transport and freight transport. In his current role at Royal HaskoningDHV, he is focusing on the application of BIM and Digital Twin technology to improve the processes of Infrastructure Man-agers and Railway Undertakings. Peter is convinced that the mobility transition goes hand in hand with digital transformation.
Manager Renewal, Asset Development & Information
Exponential growth in population and goods consumption is placing new demands on mobility and infrastructure networks. Cities and their surrounding rural areas must remain accessible without compromising residents’ quality of life, while achieving environmental sustainability. One of the sleeping giants with massive potential for disruption within this field is the Digital Twin. It enables optioneering and re-engineering of assets and processes, working with real-time data and clever algorithms, based on the sharing of information. The application of Digital Twins within the rail sector, holds a great promise to meet the increasing demand for sustainable transport solutions and significantly accelerate the required mobility transition

During this Virtual Round Table, Aart will further elaborate on the government's strategy regarding digital resilience. The organization of IT (eg IT architecture, cloud), the vision on collaboration and knowledge sharing (central or independent assessment), risk analyses, crisis management and the development and resilience of employees are central to this. Aart will show how the government deals with risk limitation (including with the help of red teaming, ethical hackers, more testing and reporting), limiting possible damage caused by cyber attacks and successful cyber attacks.
