Jeroen Jedema has a background in Information Sciences, and has over 20 years of experience within ABN AMRO’s Enterprise Architecture departments. Prior to his current role, he was the bank’s Head of Architecture International and the Principal Enterprise Architect For Corporate and Private Banking. As of May 2020 he holds the position of Lead Enterprise Architect for Data Management.

ABN AMRO collects massive amounts of data, which yields a wealth of information that can be harnessed to create value for clients and employees. However, for a long time, the bank’s data landscape was complex and fragmented, which hindered the bank to capture the value and to comply with regulatory standards. Therefore, ABN AMRO decided to enhance its data strategy and to strongly focus on data management. The bank chose to custom-build its data platforms, shift the data management capability to dedicated teams, and rethink data governance. This restructuring has established clear accountability and better data quality, and resulted in the launch of an internal Data Marketplace.
