Roland van den Berg is responsible for AS Watson's ecommerce activities in The Netherlands and Belgium (, and and overall responsible for Trekpleister as Managing Director, member of the Benelux board of directors reporting to the CEO. Prior to AS Watson, Roland was director of eCommerce and member of the board of directors at Jumbo Supermarkten. He has also worked at OC&C Strategy Consultants and Unilever.

To maintain its position as the world's largest international health and beauty retailer, AS Watson constantly searches for innovative ways to stay ahead in the (omnichannel) battle for customers. One of its latest innovations is the introduction of a new business model for the Kruidvat-divison: the Kruidvat Marketplace. The marketplace is set to become a one-stop destination for customers, offering a wide variety of products from third-party partners. However, while fully embracing the marketplace approach, some challenges arise. For example, scaling this e-commerce platform leads to an increased volume of products, transactions, and user traffic. But how do you integrate all technologies and manage inventories? How do you ensure a streamlined customer experience?
