The Province of North Brabant aims to be a pioneer in the field of data and digitalization. Currently, the province is taking steps to address policy issues in areas such as mobility, environment, and energy using data. While the potential of data is evident, the transition from data to insights and subsequently formulating more effective policies presents challenges. This includes the need to bring together the often still separate worlds of data experts and policymakers and to adapt policy processes accordingly. It also requires the development of new knowledge and skills. During this Vision Dinner, Marcel Thaens, CIO at the Province of North Brabant, will share how he creates the conditions for optimal use of data. He will address topics such as how he encourages closer collaboration between policymakers and data experts. Additionally, he will discuss how he ensures the quality of data in the organization and how he manages ethical and legal aspects, especially in light of the upcoming mandatory algorithm registry. If you are interested in these themes, you are more than welcome to be inspired by Marcel's story and engage in conversation with him and the other participants!
