Sipke Spoelstra

Director Operations

Sipke has been working for PostNL for more than 20 years now and held positions such as Director Logistic Solutions and Director Data & Document Management, before becoming PostNL’s Director Operations in 2018. In this role, he is responsible for mail and letterbox parcel deliveries and is involved in defining PostNL’s overall operations' strategy.

PostNL delivers parcels every day and mail five days a week. They are the indispensable link for their customers between senders and recipients, and the connector between the physical and the digital world. How PostNL puts digital transformation into practice, will be explained in this Virtual Round Table

The rise of new technologies enables faster, more flexible and more efficient operations. In order to truly reap the benefits of new technologies, organisations need to reinvent their operating models and need to bridge the gap between their data strategies, day-to-day operations and their core processes. However, having technologies on hand and having the processes in place are only part of the story: companies also need to bridge the digital skills gap by reskilling the workforce and by attracting tech-savvy employees. Thus, any successful digital transformation journey needs a staged and holistic approach with a clear roadmap for people, processes and technologies.
