Celebrating 25 Years of Connections!
On September 19th, 2024, Flevum proudly celebrated a significant milestone: our 25th anniversary. This special occasion was marked by an unforgettable Seaside event at Breakers Beach House in Noordwijk aan Zee, where we came together to express our gratitude to our valued partners, speakers, and loyal participants.
A Festive Welcome
The evening kicked off with a warm and cheerful welcome on the terrace of Breakers Beach House. Guests from various sectors were greeted by the smooth sounds of a live saxophonist, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere with the beautiful North Sea in the background. To add to the experience, an oyster bar was set up, where everyone could enjoy freshly opened oysters, served right on the spot.
As the sun began to set, the terrace filled with conversation and laughter, giving guests the perfect chance to connect and celebrate. The stunning coastal views and the festive mood set the tone for the rest of the evening. For Flevum, this evening was the perfect start to thank its partners, speakers, and participants for a successful year.

A Culinary Experience
As the festivities continued, guests were invited inside for a three-course dinner, thoughtfully crafted to reflect the evening’s focus on sustainability.
Jort Kelder officially opened the evening by introducing the theme, “The Power of AI and Emerging Technologies in Creating Societal Impact.” Jort engaged in a conversation with Marion Kremer, discussing her new book, The Power of Socially Connected Leadership, which highlights the role of leadership grounded in social responsibility and community engagement. This insightful exchange set the tone for a night of thought-provoking discussions.
Following this, Robbert-Jan Baars, Director of Flevum, gave a heartfelt toast, expressing gratitude to the partners, speakers, and participants for their support and collaboration over the years. After the toast, Jort interviewed Dim and Suzanne Baars, who founded Flevum in 1999. They shared stories about the early years of the organization, reflecting on its growth and the family-driven vision that has shaped it into the influential network it is today. Stephan Stokkermans, Managing Director of Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, then reflected on the long-standing partnership between Flevum and the venue, emphasizing their shared commitment to hosting meaningful and impactful events.

Inspiring Presentations
After the first course, Rob Elsinga, National Technology Officer at Microsoft Netherlands, took the stage. He shared his extensive experience and insights into leveraging emerging technologies for positive societal impact. Rob emphasized the transformative potential of generative AI and its responsible use in various industries.
Next, we heard from Milan Meyberg, a sustainability strategist and TEDx speaker. Milan introduced his innovative project, Emissary of GAIA, showcasing how AI can amplify the voice of ecosystems in sustainability discussions. His presentation offered groundbreaking perspectives on integrating sustainability into business practices, equipping attendees with fresh ideas to tackle future challenges.
The evening continued with an engaging Q&A session, where guests had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with Rob and Milan, fostering a dynamic discussion about the current state of technology and sustainability in business.

A Sweet Finale
After the inspiring Q&A session, everyone was invited to the walking dessert, a unique experience where guests could enjoy a variety of desserts while networking further. The evening wrapped up with coffee, tea, and delicious pastries on the terrace, accompanied by more live music, creating a perfect end to a memorable night.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the success of the evening. We are thrilled to host successful events year after year, and we genuinely look forward to welcoming you to our future gatherings.
