Marcus Groeneveld, co-founder and CEO of Freeday, is a visionary leader driving innovation in the AI and SaaS sectors. With a degree in International Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and further executive education from Harvard, Marcus has a diverse and robust background in tech, finance, and automation.
Before launching Freeday, Marcus gained valuable experience at PwC Nederland, where he specialized in risk assurance and blockchain technology. He also co-founded Ciphix, a tech startup focused on automation and AI. His early career included roles at Studentflex and Adyen, where he honed his skills in recruitment and operations.
As CEO of Freeday, Marcus is focused on helping businesses unlock their full potential through AI-driven automation. Under his leadership, Freeday has become a key player in the industry, transforming the way organizations handle repetitive tasks and freeing up human potential for more meaningful work.

Mathijs Gast, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Freeday, is a strategic leader with a strong foundation in both business and technology. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Tax Law, as well as master’s degrees in Business Information Management and Tax Law from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
Before Freeday, Mathijs co-founded Ciphix, a pioneering company specializing in AI and robotic process automation (RPA). His professional journey began at Erasmus University, where he and Marcus Groeneveld shared a vision of using AI to reduce manual tasks, empowering people to focus on more meaningful work.
As co-founder of Freeday, Mathijs is committed to streamlining processes and fostering innovation, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of AI-driven automation.
A passionate boxer, Mathijs enjoys the discipline and strategy the sport requires - qualities he brings to his work as well. Always on the lookout for ways to knock out inefficiencies in business processes, he consistently seeks innovative solutions to boost productivity and drive success.
