Chief Talk “The future of Talent” with Mickey Spier & Mark van Bijsterveld
In an economy increasingly based on competitive knowledge and skills development, organizations must compete for talent from a limited talent pool. Without the right talent, no organization can be competitive, but often a clear strategy for managing talent is missing. This Chief Talk not only discussed the current state of talent, but especially the expectations for the Future of Talent. For example, should the goal be to retain talent and facilitate internal growth opportunities, or to respond to the fact that people are spending less and less time in the same organization?
During this session, an episode of Chief Talk was recorded, Flevum’s qualitative video show in which two Chiefs discuss a topic from their own experience. In this episode Mickey Spier (CHRO Securitas Netherlands) & Mark van Bijsterveld (CHRO Signify) discussed their vision and experience regarding their workforce, talent management and leadership style. They further elaborated on issues such as diversity, inclusiveness, (re)training and their role as CHRO. Finally, Mickey & Mark asked each other a personal, out-of-the-ordinary question. These questions were unknown before the recording and ensure an authentic and spontaneous conversation.
During other episodes of Chief Talk, amongst others the following Chiefs participated:
- CEO | Rabo Carbon Bank
- Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer | Philips
- Chief Digital & Technology Officer | Heineken
- CIO | Schiphol
